Sindhu Vidyalay

The need to provide a caring and respectful environment for children with learning difficulties was seen by the Sindhu Charitable Trust, who started an Integrated Education Centre [I.E.C] in June 2003 in Sindh Society campus, Aundh, Pune, India. The Centre helps Special children who are mentally /physically challenged to learn vocational skills and academics, with the sole objective being the importance of changing handicapist attitude into developing a positive attitude in our Special children.

Animal Angels is conducts  Animal Assisted Therapy  sessions at the school for these children. Therapy dog Rex is a visiting therapy dog who visits the center along with Mrs Iyengar, his owner and also a volunteer with Animal Angels. The children love to play with Rex, sleep on his tummy, children who walk on crutches love to take him for a walk.

The teacher say that they have seen a big change in the expression level of these children and that they are very happy to be with the therapy dog.
